Transpetrol enjoys enduring and significant support from a loyal client base, financiers and other business partners, all of which share the same commitment to safe transportation and care for the environment.

We operate in a highly regulated maritime environment, where full compliance is just the first step for
“our license to operate”.

Environment

We are steadily enhancing our ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) framework. In respect of Environment, we deliver full data transparency on our operations. We continue to invest in technical and operational enhancements of our fleet upgrading and therewith improving fuel performance and reducing emissions. We also aim to protect the Maritime Environment and we are e.g. active members of
Whale Guardians, and IMPA Save, a foundation that is focused at “protecting the oceans” by bringing together knowledge of sustainable solutions to the maritime procurement sector.

Social engagement

Our Social engagement is demonstrated by our high retention rates, which span decades, as well as by
the ‘Transpetrol family feeling’ we create through our TP Waves communication platform.
We promote teamwork and safe working practices throughout our organization and offer training and development opportunities to all our staff at sea and ashore. We are also members of the Maritime Anti-Corruption network, an organization that is focused at eliminating Corruption and Bribery in the maritime Industry.

Governance

We keep a close eye on our Governance practice, running from our shipboard staff, to our senior commercial and technical management and the dedication of our Executive Board.

UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Transpetrol supports the UN's 2030 Agenda and its 17 SDGs
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) is and has been actively working towards this Agenda and the associated SDGs, which depend on a sustainable transport sector, supporting world trade and facilitating global economy. The SDGs provide a blueprint for the transition to a healthier planet and a more just world – for present and future generations. With concrete targets, the SDGs aim to end poverty and hunger, expand access to health, education, justice and jobs, promote inclusive and sustained economic growth, while protecting our planet from environmental degradation.

At Transpetrol, we identified three main pillars for a sustainable future for the Company:

  • People: Focus on SDG 4 (Quality Education)
  • Focus on SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy)
  • Environment: Focus on SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 14 (Life Below Water)

We are developing a reporting framework to track our progress for these three pillars.
