Medium Range (MR) product tankers Turmoil and Luctor, both built in 2011, received various eco-upgrades and completed their third special surveys and dry dockings in Singapore.
Both vessels now completed their dry dock periods and received a CAP-1 class rating. During the dry dock periods, we implemented various energy saving measures. Propeller Boss Cap Fins (PBCF) were fitted, all light systems were upgraded to LED and a premium anti-fouling coating was applied. In addition we installed variable frequency drives on the air inlets and cooling water pumps as well as an ultrasound propeller protection system that will minimize marine growth and reduce the need for propeller cleaning. These investement will indeed result in energy savings and improve the environmental footprint of both vessels. Upon completion of their dry docks, the vessels immediately commenced a short term charter.
