Medium Range (MR) product tanker TP Venture, built in 2021, completed her first special survey and dry docking this weekend at the Lisnave Shipyard in Portugal.
Although the vessel was built according to the latest “ECO” standards, we did look for ways to improve her environmental footprint further. During her dry dock, we implemented various energy saving measures. A Propeller Boss Cap Fin (PBCF) was fitted, all light systems were upgraded to LED and a premium anti-fouling coating was applied.
We further installed an ultrasound propeller protection system that will minimise marine growth and reduce the need for propeller cleaning. Last but not least, preparations were made for the installation of variable frequency drives on the air inlets and cooling water pumps. From experience, we have learned that these investments will indeed result in energy savings and emmission reductions. Upon completion of her dry dock, the vessel immediately resumed her multi-year charter.
