MT TP Spirit, one of two modern Aframax tankers in our fleet, completed her dry dock and second special survey in Singapore. During the dry dock period, we implemented various energy saving measures. A Propeller Boss Cap Fin (PBCF) was fitted, all light systems were upgraded to LED and a premium anti-fouling coating was applied. In addition, we installed variable frequency drives on the air inlets and cooling water pumps as well as an ultrasound propeller protection system that will minimize marine growth and reduce the need for propeller cleaning.
Earlier in August, our VLGC TP Tenacity completed her her dry dock and second special survey in Singapore too. The vessel received the same eco-upgrades as TP Spirit, but in addition, we also installed a pre-swirl device, which will optimise the water flow into the propeller. This is expected to further improve her speed and fuel performance.
Upon completion of their dry dock periods, both vessels continued their time charter commitments.
In total, we docked and upgraded five of our vessels during this summer at the Seatrium shipyard in Singapore. All works were carried safely and expediently, and we would like to thank Seatrium for the professional and pleasant cooperation.
